The Bournemouth Heart Club holds the following information (data) on members:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of Birth
  • Patient / Partner
  • Occupation / Previous Occupation
  • Hobbies / Interests
  • Telephone Number
  • Email
  • List of Medication
  • Name of Doctor
  • Next of Kin
  • Emergency Contact
  • If you are able to Gift Aid
  • Class / classes attended
  • Date of visits
  • Car registration, make and model (if using club car park)

This data is required to maintain contact with members and to maintain the business and running of the Bournemouth Heart Club.

At the time of joining, members are asked for their preferred method of contact, which is how the Bournemouth Heart Club will contact members.

The data apart from the List of Medication is securely and confidentially stored in a locked fireproof cabinet in the main office, accessible only by management and trustees.

The Bournemouth Heart Club does not share this data apart from the List of Medication with any other organisation or individual and does not use it for any purpose other than stated above.

The member's List of Medication is stored in a secure cabinet in the Exercise Instructors Office and only accessed by staff in the event of a member undergoing a medical emergency while present in the club. Then the List of Medication will be passed to the Hospital Staff attending to the medical emergency. After use by the Hospital Medical Staff the List of Medication is returned to the secure cabinet in the Exercise Instructors office.

Members have all the individuals’ rights included in the GDPR including the right to ask what data is kept on them, and the Bournemouth Heart Club will provide the member with a copy of the data, within 28 days of request. If a member requests that their data be erased then their membership of the Bournemouth Heart Club will terminate with that erasure.

Member’s data will not be kept any longer than is necessary and follows current and future UK law on data protection.
